About me

I’m originally from Chorley in Lancashire but am based in East Sussex.  I trained as an actor at Rose Bruford College and toured for several years but I have also worked in an office, on a market, selling credit cards and breaking pebble dash off the side of a house!  In 2009 I wrote The Irrepressible Professor Montague Rumpleseed Drake’s Magnificent Time Travelling Machine and since then I’ve told stories including Introducing Richmal Crompton’s Just William (2010), Michael Morpurgo’s Private Peaceful (2014), Terry Deary’s The War Game (2014-15), Roald Dahl’s The Twits (2016)Jeremy Strong’s The Hundred Mile an Hour Dog (2017)and Nigel Auchterlounie’s Dennis and the Chamber of Mischief (2018).  Today I work regularly work in early year centres, primary schools, libraries and museums and have been involved in several major events including the Cultural Olympiad (2012), Great War commemorations (2014-2018) and #Shakespeare400 (2016).

I am a performance storyteller.  This means I have a dynamic and enjoyable style of presentation. I use my face and body to tell stories and like my audience to participate as much as possible.  Some people describe my work as being a bit like a one man show.

I love telling stories to young people.  I believe that I bring stories to life in fresh and imaginative ways and that in doing so …
